Edmund Joseph Beery, Iii

Edmund Joseph Beery, III went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2026, at the age of 76, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Annandale, Virginia, Ed lived a life marked by faith, service, hard work, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather proud American, faithful servant of God, and a friend who could always be counted on. His life was one of quiet strength, steadfast faith, and deep compassion for others.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mildred F. Beery and Edmund J. Beery Jr.; mother-in-law and best friend Anna Fraker; his brother, John Paul Beery; and his sister, Kathy Dove.

Ed shared 38 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, his wife, Debra Beery of Beckley, West Virginia. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, laughter, and devotion to the Lord. Their marriage was a beautiful example of Christian love, grounded in prayer, compassion, and unwavering commitment to God and to their family.

Left to cherish his memory are his children and their spouses: Kim Beery-Stone and John Stone of Locust Grove, Virginia; Lisa Beery of Fredericksburg, Virginia; David and Andi Crone of Beckley, West Virginia; Andrew Crone of Milton, New Hampshire; Keith and Barbara Crone of Winchester, Virginia; Matt and Tracey Crone of Buffalo, New York; Julie and Jeremy Doan of Elkridge, Maryland; Steven Crone of Cocoa Beach, Florida; and Todd and Cassie Crone of Beckley, West Virginia.

He also leaves behind twenty-four grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life. He loved spending time with his family, sharing stories, offering advice, and making everyone laugh with his incredible sense of humor. Ed had a gift for making people feel welcome and cared for. He was always there with a helping hand, a listening ear, or a joke to brighten someone's day.

He is also survived by his loving siblings: Donald Beery of Fairfax, Virginia; Pam Beery-Gibson and Paige Gibson of Barstow, Maryland; and Susie Beery-Bailey of Roanoke, Virginia. In addition, he leaves behind many beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who were blessed to know and love him.

Those serving as pallbearers will include his brother, brother-in-law, sons, sons-in-law, and nephew.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Jenna Gladwell, Dr. Harold Harvey II, and Hospice of Beckley, West Virginia, for the compassionate care and support shown to Ed and the family during this difficult time.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley, WV.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at New Prospect Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Gary Williams and Dr. Joseph Harmon. Burial will immediately follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in knowing that Ed's faith has become sight and that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord he loved so dearly. His legacy of faith, love, laughter, service, and devotion to family will continue to live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
