Elsie Eileen Ransom Lilly Pack, age 95, of Cool Ridge, WV passed away at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV on Friday, May 17, 2024.
Born at Cool Ridge, WV on October 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Oron James Ransom and Pansy Griffith Ransom.
Eileen, as she was known by her family and friends was a retired cook for the Raleigh County School System, where she was well known for her homemade rolls. She was a member of West Raleigh Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening, flowers, camping, cooking and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her first husband Welton C. Lilly Sr; second husband Delano Ray Pack; two grandsons Eric Jones and Roger Richmond Jr; a great grandson; two sisters Pauline Wood and Edith Evy Mann; a brother James Eugene Ransom.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children: Welton Lilly Jr., of Cool Ridge, with whom she made her home for the past 12 years, Daria Farmer and husband Arlie of Lenoir, NC, Dora Richmond and husband Rev. Roger Richmond of Shady Spring, and Laverne Jones and husband Jack of Shady Spring; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren, with another great-great grandchild soon to be born; a sister Marylene Coleman of Maryland. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family extends special thanks to Bowers Hospice House, and special caregivers Patricia Willis and Katrina Freeman.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at noon with Rev. Mike McQuillen and Rev. Rodney Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6 PM until 9 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
