Eliza Schwitzerlette

Eliza Schwitzerlette, 86, of Grandview, West Virginia, departed from this life and entered her Heavenly home on August 6, 2024, after a brief illness.

Eliza was born on February 10, 1938, to the late James and Eliza Emerson in Callands, Virginia.  She married her beloved husband Oscar on December 7, 1957, and was lovingly known as his "Sweetie".  In 1971, Oscar and Eliza began working in Christian ministry, and embarked on a journey that took them to various communities across Virginia and West Virginia. Their ministry brought them to Grandview, West Virginia in 1977 where she became a long-time member of Grandview Christian Church.  While serving as a faithful minister's wife, Eliza left a lasting impact on everyone she met.  Eliza's great ministry of encouragement continued throughout her lifetime with the countless number of cards that she sent to others throughout various stages of their lives.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of sixty-six years, Oscar; her children Marsha Badertscher (David), Jonathan Schwitzerlette (Candi), Teresa Wills (Steve); her grandchildren Jessica Payne (Mark), Ashley Marden (Brice), Kacie Blosser (Matt), Caleb Wills (Hillary), Jonathan David Schwitzerlette; her great- grandchildren Adalynn, Eliza Grace, and Rhett Marden, Trenton and Parker Blosser, and Brayden and Anistyn Wills. She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Schwitzerlette and Lottie Shorter.

Her celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Grandview Christian Church. Friends may visit with the family two hours before her service. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park on Harper Road, Beckley, West Virginia following the service.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Wills, Jonathan David Schwitzerlette, Matt Blosser, Trenton Blosser, Mark Payne, and Brice Marden.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Eliza with donations to Bowers Hospice House at 454 Cranberry Road, Beckley, West Virginia, 25801.
