Emma Ethel Harrah

Emma Ethel Harrah, age 81, of Beckley, WV passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on April 29, 1944 in Spurlocksville, WV, (Lincoln County), she was the daughter of the late Evermont Adkins and Stella Adkins.

Mrs. Harrah was a homemaker, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and going to yard sales.

She was the last surviving member of a family of eleven siblings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Arnold Harrah Sr., a  son James A. Harrah Jr.; by siblings Dora E. Spellman, Elizabeth Lambert, Woodrow Adkins, Betty Griffith,  Mae Cochran, Odell Adkins, Charles Adkins, Sadie Quesenberry, Scott Adkins, and Clifford Adkins.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include daughters, Nancy Edwards  and husband Rick of Murfreesboro, TN, Ann Harrah and wife Kim of Beckley; two grandchildren, David Harrah of Beckley, and Chase Edwards of Murfreesboro, TN; step grandchildren, Nathan Edwards, and Mallory, Levi and Gavin Phillips of Beckley.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Harrah also leaves behind special friends Rhodetta Adkins and Billy Pettry.

Funeral services  will be conducted  at the Rose and Quesenberry  Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Keith Manning officiating. Burial will follow at  Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home.

Family and  friends will serve as pallbearers.
