Eugenia Marie Acord

Eugenia Marie Acord, age 67, of Fairdale, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.

Born on October 22, 1957 in  Holy Oke, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Eugene Dawson and Molly Lambert Dawson. Mrs. Acord was retired from the Raleigh County Board of Education as a teacher's aide at Stratton Elementary School in Beckley.

She attended  Bolt Church of God.  Mrs. Acord  enjoyed going to the beach and going to the zoo, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful  servant of the Lord, and lived  to give to others in any way that she could.  Mrs. Acord was selfless, kind, loving, brave and confident. The last five years she has fought so beautifully and courageously. The faith she had, the wisdom she gave, and the prayers she prayed; to know her was to love her. If you talked to her you left encouraged.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Dean Acord, and a son, Jacob Wayne Acord.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her children, Lonnie Dean French Acord of Dixon, Kentucky, Estaleah Suzette Acord Allen and husband Gary Wayne of Beckley, Kourtney Schiree Daniel and husband Brandon of Naoma, Matthew Shane Acord and wife Halee  BreAnne of Beckley, Jessica Rose Alderman and husband Melvin of Arnett, and John Tally Acord and wife Samantha of Fairdale; grandchildren, Wyatt Acord, Lillee Acord, Kennedy Daniel, Tahan Acord, Ezekiel Daniel, Bethel Acord, Caleb Alderman, Jaxson Acord, Emberlee Acord, and Adaline Acord. A sister, Sue Nelson of Missouri; two nieces Heather and Hillary.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Bolt Church of God on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at noon with Rev. Ricky Peters and Rev. Gary Allen officiating. Burial will follow at the Daniel Cemetery on Posey-Saxon Road. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
