Frances Estella (Gentry) Bailey, 90, of Beckley and formerly of Bud, went to her eternal Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her beloved husband of 63 years, David "DJ" Bailey, on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Born October 3, 1935, to the late Clarence and Ruby Gentry, Frances was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a cherished sibling, not only to her biological brothers and sisters whom she loved unconditionally, but also to her brothers and sisters in Christ.
A faithful and devoted member of the Ravencliff Church of God of Prophecy, Frances found great comfort and fellowship within her church family, where she was always welcomed with open arms. Her family is eternally grateful for the love and support she received there.
Frances enjoyed a simple and meaningful life. She loved attending church, traveling, spending time with her family, reading her Bible, enjoying home-cooked meals, welcoming visitors, and having peaceful days at home.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Christopher Shawn Mills and Jennifer Lynette McKinney; four siblings, Gene Gentry, Clara Brooks (Bo), Patricia Tolliver (Pat), and Delmer Gentry (Fud); and a special sister-in-law, Sandy Sue Gentry.
Those left to cherish her memory include her six children: Wanda Bailey of Mullens; Debbie Mills and husband Kenneth of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; David Bailey and wife Virginia of Grassy Meadows; Greta Palmer and husband Mike Palmer of Pace, Florida; and twin sons Troy Bailey and wife Debbie of Crab Orchard, and Roy Bailey and wife Debbie of Herndon Heights.
She is also survived by her siblings: Sue Rose of Herndon Heights; Richard Gentry and wife Ida of Herndon Heights; Kermit Gentry and wife Sandy of Zanesville, Ohio; and Kenneth Gentry and wife Denise of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Frances leaves behind a loving legacy of 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly and of whom she was deeply proud.
In honoring her final wishes, there will be no funeral service. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or monetary offerings, the family humbly asks that you take a moment to say a prayer for yourselves and your loved ones and in thanksgiving for all that the Lord has provided.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord will give me on that day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."
— 2 Timothy 4:6–8
