Frances Joy Coalson

Frances Joy Coalson, age 87, of Stanaford, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 16, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 31, 1937 at Pierpoint, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Phillips and Winnie Halsey Phillips.

Mrs. Coalson was a homemaker and a member of  the Teel Apostolic Church of Beckley. She enjoyed attending church and visiting with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles William Coalson Jr.; by sisters, Mary Lester and Bonnie Bell.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include children, Rickie Charles Coalson and wife  Kathy Coal City, Kenneth Coalson and wife Susan of  Crab Orchard, and Michael Coalson of Stanaford. A sister, Jo Ann Gration of Coal City; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family extends special thanks to Amanda Coalson and Tonya Bailey from Hospice of Southern WV,  "PawPaw J", and Evelyn Simmons.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Teel Apostolic Church of Beckley, 219 Front Street, Beckley, WV on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 1 PM with Bishop Gary D.  Blankenship Sr. and Pastor Gary Brandon Blankenship officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley. Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Thursday at the church.
