Mrs. Geneva Lois Hollandsworth Clyburn went from grace to glory on July 8, 2026. She was born at home on a cold wintery December 22, 1932 in the small railroad town of Oakvale, Mercer County, WV, the only child of Reverend Lonnie M. and Topsy K. Harry Hollandsworth.

She grew up in a loving, happy home. Her parents enrolled her in the first grade at age 7 and she graduated in 1950 as valedictorian in a class of 14. Mrs. Clyburn married Reverend Otis T. Clyburn in 1951 and traveled with him in ministry throughout West Virginia. They lovingly welcomed two sons into their family, Barry and Jerryd.

Mrs. Clyburn dared to be a different person who was true to her personality and beliefs. She was an independent thinker.

Mrs. Clyburn was a woman of simple pleasures-going to church, visits and phone calls from family and friends, and a cup of decaf coffee and a good book. One of her treasured pleasures was seeing her sons and grandson follow their father and grandfather in ministry, resulting in four generations of ministry in the Clyburn Family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Otis Clyburn and son Reverend Jerryd Clyburn.

She was lovingly and tenderly cared for by her family who survive her, son, Reverend Barry Clyburn and his wife Diane of Beckley, WV. She was Mimi to her granddaughter Chantelle and her husband, Jason Harrah, and their children Emma and Caleb Harrah of St. Johns, Florida. She was Mumu to her grandson, Reverend Garrett Clyburn and his wife Sydney, and their children Merritt and Navy Clyburn of Beckley, WV, daughter-In-law Amanda Clyburn of Beckley, WV, a step grandson, Christopher Henderson and his wife Dana and their children, Maddy, Ian and Audrey Henderson, Beaver, WV, nephew Vincent Gerber and Tonya, niece Myra Hope Phillips and niece Autumn Phillips all of Princeton, WV.

She leaves her family a legacy of unconditional love.

The service will be conducted by her son and grandson at Family Worship Center in Beckley, WV on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 PM until service time on Thursday at the church.  A private family burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV on the following day.
