Rev. George Parker Mandakunis

Rev. George Parker Mandakunis, age 79, of Flat Top, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV  following a short illness.

Born at Keystone, WV on July 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Nicholas Mandakunis and Florence Mann Mandakunis.

Rev. Mandakunis had served the Lord in ministry for over 40 years, having retired as Pastor of the Seniors of Calvary Assembly of God in Beckley. He loved being with his family, and the fellowship with church family.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Mandakunis was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Whitney Faith Mandakunis, and by a sister Marcia "Nicki" Mandakunis Spinella.

Those survivors left to cherish his wonderful memory include his wife of nearly 59 years, Lillie Patterson Mandakunis; three sons, John Nicholas Mandakunis of Flat Top, WV, James Bruce Mandakunis and wife Marilyn of Kodak, TN, and Jason Scott Mandakunis and wife Kimberly of Oak Hill, WV. Two grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Mandakunis of Flat Top, WV and Evan Scott Mandakunis of Oak Hill, WV; a great grandson Dante James Sexton of Flat Top, WV.

Funeral services will  be held to Celebrate the Life of Rev. George P. Mandakunis on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Assembly of God in Beckley, WV with Pastor John Jordan officiating.  Burial will follow at the Mandakunis Family Cemetery at Flat Top, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the church on Thursday, and also one hour prior to the services on Friday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
