Rev. Gerald Ray Kelley

Rev. Gerald Ray Kelley, age 87, of Beckley, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on July 2, 1937, he was the son of the late George Kelley and Ada Christian Kelley.

Rev. Kelley was a retired minister, having pastored Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Norton, Ohio for 16 years, Rittman Community Church for 2 years in Rittman, Ohio, and lastly pastored  Bradley Freewill Baptist Church in Bradley,  WV for nearly nine years.

Rev. Kelley attended Sprague Freewill Baptist Church in Beckley, WV. He enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, landscaping, and fishing.

Rev. Kelley lived 27 years of his life in Ohio, and had been a resident of this area since 1982. He was saved in a Tent Revival at Rupert, WV under the preaching of Rev. Ernest Barley in 1958.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Kelley was preceded in death by  brothers Bill Kelley, Guy Kelley, and James Kelley, and by a sister Wilma DeWeese.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his  wife of 67 years,  Ann Hellems Kelley; a  brother George Kelley Jr. and wife Donna of Rittman, Ohio;   sisters-in-law Wanda Kelley of Grove City, Ohio, Kelly Kelley, and Phyllis Kelley both of Meca, Arizona. Several nieces and nephews also  survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at Sprague Freewill Baptist Church in Beckley, WV on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 5 PM with Pastor  Fred Lovell Jr. officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Sunday at the church.  A private burial will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.
