Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Jako

Gerald Wayne Jako, age 61, of Piney View, WV passed away at his home on January 15, 2026.

Born on December 15, 1964 in Wheeling, WV, he was the son of the late John Jako and Barbara Deaton Jako.

Jerry, as he was known by family and friends was an automobile salesman for Lewis Automotive in Beckley, WV.

He was of the Catholic faith, enjoyed the outdoors, and spending time with his dog, Bonnie.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Jako, by a sister Eva "Sue" Lemmon.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Gerald Jr. "J.J.,"Danielle, Kari, and Brandon; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; brothers Tom Jako, Don Jako and wife Susan, John Jako and wife Linda, all of Kentucky, and a sister Michelle Comer and husband Larry of Florida. Former wife of over 40 years, Melanie Jako of Wheeling, WV. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 7:00 PM with Pastor Keith Manning officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 PM until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Graveside Rites and Burial will follow at the Clairmont Memorial Gardens in Winchester, Kentucky.
