Glansy Mae Williams

Glansy Mae Todd Williams passed away on October 1, 2025, in Floyd, Va at the age of 96.

Glansy was born on August 23, 1929.  She was the daughter of the late Jacey Jake Todd and Letha Jones Todd.  She was one of six of the Todd children and was the last living of her siblings.

She lived 93 years in Beckley, WV where she raised her four children and worked at GC Murphy's from the age of 17 until they closed in the late 1980's.  She attended the Beckley First Church of the Nazarene faithfully which she loved being with her church family so dearly.  She moved to Christiansburg, VA in July 2022 after a minor stroke and resided at Spring Oak Assisted Living in Christiansburg and then transferred to Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation in Floyd, Va on August 1, 2025.

Glansy was preceded in death by her true love and husband Eulis Plumley.  She was a young woman of 25 years old left to raise her beloved boys, Jerry and Paul.  She was preceded in death by previous husband, Bill Wardensky, whom she had two girls, Janie and Deb. She was also preceded in death by her wonderful husband Damon Williams in 2003.  Her worst nightmare happened on October 13, 2024, when she lost one of her beloved children, Paul.

She faced many trials and tribulations throughout her 96 years, but she was always praising her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  If you met her, that is the one thing she would make clear is her love for her Lord. Her faith and hope never wavered.  We can only imagine the celebration she is having in Heaven after her long wait to be with Him.

She had unmeasurable amounts of talent and "know-hows".  Her love for flowers and birds was beautiful. She could make anything grow into the most beautiful flower/plant you have ever seen.  She loved to crochet and made sure she tried to get all her children and grandchildren an afghan made to wrap up in.  Her love for her children and grandchildren was so deep and has left an everlasting impression on all.

Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter in law: Jerry & Cindy Plumley, daughter in law: Lynn Plumley, daughter and son in law: Janie Wardensky Phipps and Jerry Phipps, daughter and son in law: Deb Wardensky Funkhouser & Jeff Funkhouser and stepdaughter and son in law: Ann Williams Sleboda and Greg Sleboda.  Grandchildren: Eddie, Eric, Paul Jr., Lee, Janell, JJ, Kaitlyn, Mandy and Chris. 14 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she adored as her own.

Visitation will be held at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM with a completion of services following at graveside at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
