Harold Gene Wilburn, age 86, of Crow, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born on April 5, 1939 at Glen Rogers, he was the son of the late Arthur Wilburn and Thelma Kincaid Wilburn.
Mr. Wilburn was a retired Metropolitan Police Officer in Washington, DC. He was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church at Mount Tabor, WV.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilburn was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Wilburn and wife Carol; Charles Wilburn and wife Malita; sister-in-law Kim Wilburn; and a brother-in-law Ben Hardina, and brother-in-law Stan Smith.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 33 years, Yvette Hart Wilburn; a son Mike Wilburn of Virginia; daughter Michelle Wilburn of Florida; granddaughter Kanessa Campbell of North Carolina; sisters, Shirley Coutts and husband Richard of Pennsylvania, Mildred Hardina of Florida, Sandra Mullins and husband Benny of Virginia, and Janice Smith of Mount Hope, West Virginia; a brother Gerald Wilburn of Mount Hope, West Virginia; a sister-in-law Yvonne Tucker of Florida. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at noon, with Pastor Michael King officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wilburn's nephews, Rick Hudson, Danny Duncan, Greg Wilburn, Gerald Wilburn Jr., Jacob Meadows, and Brandon Blevins will serve as pallbearers.
