James Norman Allen

James Norman "Jim" Allen, age 83, of Prosperity, WV passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on December 10, 1941, or as he would like to say "three days after Pearl Harbor", Jim was the son of the late Rev. Virgil Allen and Marie Allen. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Allen, and by sisters, Patricia Allen, Marlene Loudy and Phyllis Parker.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a coal miner at Beckley Coal and Mingo Logan.

He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Hall; son, Tim Allen; grandson, Casey Hall; granddaughter Hannah Raynes; a great grandson Weston Hall; three brothers, David Allen and wife Donna of Bristol, TN, Victor Allen and wife Dawn of Welch, WV, and Virgil Allen of Deluth, Minnosota. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Doug Holley officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr. Beckley, WV 25801 in memory of James Norman Allen.
