James Edward Lester

James Edward Lester, age 74, of Cool Ridge, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 4, 1950 in Daniels, he was the son of the late Edward Crusa Lester and Lue Verna Ransom Lester.

Mr. Lester was a disabled truck driver for the Coca Cola Bottling Company and was a member of Ghent Freewill Baptist Church.  He was a member of Out On A Limb support group, and when health allowed enjoyed hunting, fishing and always loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother George William Lester, and a sister Verna Buchanan.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Anna Pack Lester;  a son Greg Lester and wife Jennifer of Cool Ridge; three grandchildren, Eli and Kaden Lester, and Chloe Thompson; sisters-in-law Pauline Lilly and Carolyn Moran; a brother-in-law Gary Pack and wife Faye. A "grand dog " Bella also survives.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Sunday, May 5, 2024  at 2 PM with Rev. Larry Lilly officiating, assisted by Rev. Kevin Webb. Burial will follow at Mount View Cemetery, Cool Ridge, WV. Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Lester, Randall Lester, Gary Pack, Kevin Lilly, Donnie Fink, and Erland Mathias.  Eddie Lester will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Bowers Hospice House in Beckley for the excellent care given to our loved one.
