James Thomas Harmon, Sr.

James Thomas Harmon Sr., age 54, of Piney View, WV passed away on August 7, 2026 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born on June 9, 1972 in Beckley, he was the son of Troy Harmon and Sandra Kay Tucker Harmon of Piney View.

James, as he was known by his family and friends, was a disabled security guard. He had attended Piney View Bible Church as a child, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Troy Harmon Jr.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory, other than his parents, Troy and Sandra Kay Harmon, include four children, Kendra Pudder, James Harmon “J.T.” Jr. and his wife Morgan, Alexus Harmon and her fiancé Jeremiah, and Tucker Harmon; step children Elizabeth Wickline and husband Austin, and Scarlett Davidson and husband Chase.

Grandchildren, Jaden, Cameron, Mathias, Gracie , Ethan, Eli, Sophie, Ava, Malaki, Xavier, Lane, and Lawson;

Two sisters, Kelly Sharp, and Susie Peck and husband Dan. Several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service To Celebrate The Life of James Thomas  Harmon Sr. will be held at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor George Wood Jr. officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday.
