James Junior Ward

James Junior Ward, age 63, of Beckley, WV, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2024, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, Charleston, WV. Born on October 4, 1961 in Beckley, he was the son of the late James Marshall Ward and Hallie Mae Wheeler Ward.

Mr. Ward enjoyed working on cars, and doing lawn work.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Shuck; by two nieces, Kimberly Persinger and Rebecca Foster.

Those surviving include his wife Patricia Ward of Rhodell; his children, Jonathan Gillenwater and fiancé Tiea of Princeton, WV, Hallie Combs of Coeburn, VA, James Howard Ward of Beaver, WV,  Michelle Hunt and husband Cody of Beckley, WV, and Justin Ward of Beckley, WV. Eight grandchildren, Derek, Daniel, and Andrew Gillenwater, Shawn, and Shane Webb, Alexander Ward, and Lexie and Tyler Combs; one great grandson, Levi. Siblings, Dreama Morgan and husband Walter, Patricia Ward, Russell Johnson and wife Debbie, Margie Leininger and husband Glenn, Paula Pulsifer and fiancé James, and Sharon Murphy. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
