James Leach

Elder James Ray Leach, age 76, of Beckley, WV, went home to be  with the Lord on Friday,  March 7, 2025, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a short illness.

Born on July 29, 1948, at Fireco, he was the son of the late Emmett Leach and Janie Bolen Leach.

Mr. Leach was a former truck driver, and was the former pastor of Glen View Regular Baptist Church.  He presently served as pastor of Princewick Missionary Baptist Church at Princewick.

He enjoyed preaching the Word of God, and fishing with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr.  Leach was preceded by brothers Earl Gene Leach and Elder Arnold Leach, and by a sister Hazel Robinson. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister Delores Jean Leach.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory included his wife of nearly 55 years, Diana Lilly Leach; his children, James Ray Leach Jr. of Texas, Steven Leach and wife Terri of Beckley, Richard Leach of Beckley; four grandchildren, Steven Leach Jr., Mark Leach, Caitlyn Willis and husband Zach, and Tyler Leach.

Five great grandchildren, Mason Leach, Paisley Yopp, Wade Willis, Acelynn Leach, and Waylon Willis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Charles Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Coal City Community Cemetery at Coal City, WV. Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
