James Lemon

James Donald Lemon, age 69, of Cool Ridge, WV, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2025, after a long illness.

James was born January 30, 1956 in Beckley, to the late Jack Lemon and Norma Pettry Lemon.

James retired from Tamarack, and had worked also for WV Glass, Lakeview Golf Course and Control Products. He was a graduate of Shady Spring High School.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a sister Jackie Lemon Gravley, and by his father-in-law Steve Wood.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Stephanie Wood Lemon; mother-in-law Ella Wood; brother Gary Lemon and wife Renee; niece Angelia Lemon Price and husband Matt; nephew Brandon Lemon; great nieces Alexia Blake, Riley Lemon, and Katie Scott; great nephews Julian Blake, Jack and Logan Lemon. James is also survived by his aunt Coretta Ephrem of Florida.  Several cousins and extended family, the Cernuto's.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel on Thursday February 27, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Luke Richmond officiating. A private burial will be held   at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Ghent Volunteer Fire Department, or to Bowers Hospice House in memory of James Lemon. The family would like to thank the E.R. Staff of Raleigh General Hospital for the compassionate care given to James.
