James Lee Long

James Lee Long, age 93, of Cool Ridge, WV passed away at Summers Health Care Center in Hinton, WV on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

Born on August 9, 1930 in Vienna, WV, he was the son of the late James Long and Atha Baker Long.

Mr. Long retired as a Line Engineer for the C&P Telephone Company, after 38 years of service.

He enjoyed the outdoors, having loved gardening, camping and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earle Long, and a sister Olive Barker.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife Ella Richmond Stover Long; his children, Dwight Long, Cathy Durham, and Daniel Stover;  four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Long was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

A committal service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 11 AM.  A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until service time on Tuesday at the mausoleum.  Burial will follow at the cemetery.
