James Harold Mackey Jr., age 70, of Beckley, WV passed away at his home on Friday, July 19, 2024.
Born on October 12, 1953 in Beckley, he was the son of Barbara Dew Mackey of Beckley and the late James Harold Mackey Sr.
Mr. Mackey was co-owner and operator of Mackey Contractors in Beckley. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his special cat, Sweet Pea. Mr. Mackey was a hard working man who was devoted to his work.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his younger brother Charles "Chalky" Mackey.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving mother Barbara Dew Mackey of Beckley; sisters, Brenda Reeves and husband Jack of Beckley, and Debbie Mackey and wife Melena of Knoxville, TN. A sister in law Sherri Mackey of Beckley. Nieces and nephews, Jeremy Reeves and wife Jada of Beckley, Stacy Reeves of Beckley, Tamber Patton of Daniels, Nikki Mays and husband Scott of Shady Spring, and Brittany Mackey of Beaver. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 2 PM with Rev. Keith Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jack Reeves, Jeremy
Reeves, Scott Mays, Tyler Mackey, Jacob Reeves and Aiden Mays.
The family extends a a special thank you to Best Ambulance and Amedysis for the loving care given to our family.
Also a thank you to the staff at Divita for all the years of life changing kindness and care. What amazing friends you have been.
