James “Bubba” McDaniel, 20, of Lanark, WV passed away tragically in an automobile accident on Friday, August 21, 2026.
James was born August 27, 2005 in Beckley, WV. He was a 2023 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and Raleigh County ACT Electrical Program. He worked for Arch Coal Company prior to serving as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corp.
James enjoyed riding motorcycles, side -by-sides, along with shooting guns.
He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his nephew Sawyer.
James was preceded in death by his father, Jeff McDaniel.
He is survived by his mother, Edna McDaniel (Allen Hatfield); biological parents, James Earl Lehman and Laura Martin; sister whom he loved dearly and spoiled him greatly, Alicia Coalson; brother Jeffrey McDaniel, and a nephew he loved as his own, Sawyer Coalson. James is also survived by a host of aunts and uncles. He was especially close to Diane Bowling and Wayne and Patty Fox.
He also leaves behind numerous cousins, and many friends he thought of as family.
The family would like to thank the community for all the love and support they have provided during this difficult time. Also, a special thank you to the Cornett family.
Services will be held at Church Of God Family Worship Center, 224 Pinewood Drive, Beckley, WV on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Paul Chapman and Minister David Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the church on Friday, and also two hours prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be James Earl Lehman, Jeff McDaniel, Devin Coalson, Earl Lehman, Gavin Gilliam, Aaron Bailey and Mike Chambers.
Military graveside rites will be provided by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
