James Jeffrey Stanton

James Jeffrey Stanton, 67, of Beckley, West Virginia, died Thursday, March 14.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack E. Stanton, his mother, Alice Virginia "Maggie" (Payne) Stanton, and a brother, William David Stanton, all of Beckley.

Jeff was an avid fisherman, farmer, motorcycle enthusiast, and fan of talk radio. He held a bachelor's degree in business administration from Marshall University and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He had worked in several vocations, including mining gold in South Carolina and coal in West Virginia as a heavy machinery operator.

In recent years, Jeff had been a caregiver and constant companion to his mother, who died in 2022.

He is survived by two children, two nieces, cousins, and beloved friends who plan to honor his memory with a private memorial service.
