James "Jim" Stiffler

James "Jim" Stiffler, 79, of Meadow Creek, West Virginia, passed away on December 14, 2025.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Jim was drafted straight out of high school to serve his country in Vietnam. He was proud of his service, and throughout his life he stayed closely connected with his fellow Red Warrior veterans—bonds that meant the world to him.

After returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda, and together they began their life as a young family in Pennsylvania, welcoming three children. Jim and Linda later made West Virginia their home, where they devoted themselves to raising their family. In time, their children blessed them with seven grandchildren—six of the most amazing grandsons and one cherished granddaughter. Jim took immense pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his family grow. His love of nature, his gentle spirit, and his deep pride in his military service were defining parts of who he was.

Jim's faith was central to his life. He believed deeply in the promises of God and carried that faith with him through every season. It was a source of strength, comfort, and direction. He lived out his beliefs quietly but consistently, through his kindness, his gratitude, and the way he loved his family. His family takes great comfort knowing that he is now at peace and reunited with his beloved wife, Linda, in the presence of the Lord. Their love story remains one of the greatest treasures of his life.

Jim is survived by his children, Troy and Stephanie Stiffler of Meadow Creek; Reverend Todd and Sheri Stiffler of Salem; and Mike and Traci Sweeney of Shady Spring; and his grandchildren, Troy Jr. (TJ), Tristan, Tripp, (children of Troy and Stephanie), Trenton and Taelyn (children of Todd and Sheri), and Tanner and Tab (children of Mike and Traci).

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Jim's friends and neighbors in Meadow Creek, whose kindness, watchful care, and willingness to help in any moment meant more than words can express.

A private burial was held.
