Janet M. Hodges, 80, of Daniels, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on April 23, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at CAMC General Hospital.
Janet was born in Cranberry, West Virginia, to John and Elizabeth Linsky. She was one of many siblings: Elizabeth (George) Barnhouse, Elvera (Charlie) Faw, Jack (Norma) Linsky, JoAnn (Wade) Griffith, Nancy (Jack) Lamb, her twin sister, Jane (Charles) Adkins, and Arlene (Dennis) Lyons. She is survived by her sisters, Helen (Noel) Riffe and Margaret (Joe) Kosco.
Janet shared 58 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Larry, and was a constant source of love and support. She became a loving mother in 1971 to her only daughter, Cristine (Clint) Workman. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Ericka (Christopher) Jacobs, Andrew (Natalie) Workman, Brittany (Bryan) Lyons, Damion Workman, Christion Workman, Aubree Workman, and Carson Workman, and a cherished great-grandmother to Riley Jacobs, Ronin Jacobs, Addalyn Workman, and Grayson Workman.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Damion Workman, and several of her siblings.
Janet could be described as tough, dedicated, exquisite, and very particular—in the best way. She was also an avid bowler. You would rarely see her without her hair and makeup perfectly done—she dressed to impress every day, and her home and yard were always immaculate. Strong-willed and determined, she never quit and was always working, tending to her home and those she loved.
She will be missed immensely by her family and many friends.
In accordance with Janet's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maxwell Hill Baptist Church, 301 Teel Road, Beckley, WV.
