Janet Lorene Yoney, age 75, of Glen Morgan, WV passed away at the Raleigh Center at Daniels, WV on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.
Born on July 4, 1948 in Morgantown, she was the daughter of the late George L. Martin and Irene Pedigo Martin.
Janet was a Christian and a member of Faith Community Church in Beckley. She was a loving wife to Ralph Yoney for 55 years. Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed birdwatching, attending church, family cookouts, church functions, and listening to Christian music.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, a son Ralph Carl Yoney Jr., and a daughter Rachel Thompson.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband Ralph Yoney of Glen Morgan; three brothers, Jim Martin and wife Mary Jo of Marysville, Washington, George Martin and wife Joyce of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Joe Martin and wife Linda, also of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister Peggy Garletts and husband Randy of Bruceton Mills, WV; a son Kevin Yoney and wife Cara of Cool Ridge, and daughter Melanie Sisson and husband Chris of Shady Spring; two granddaughters Chelsey Wood and fiancé Jared, of Coal City, and Katie Yoney Plumley and husband Willie of Bennett Mountain; a grandson Kevin Yoney II and wife Zoey of Flat Top; three great grandchildren, Wyatt Kayce, Ellie Rae, and Axel Arlo.
The family extends special thanks to Raleigh Center and to DaVita Mountaineer Dialysis.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Faith Community Church, 299 Grey Flats Road, Beckley, WV. on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 6 PM with Rev. Danny Holstein and Pastor Sam Peterson officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Sunday at the church.
A graveside rite and burial will be held at the Donel C. Kinnard State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar, WV on Monday at noon.
