Jeffrey Scott Hamilton

Scott Hamilton passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at CAMC General Division.

A loving husband and devoted parent. The best Papaw. A God fearing man and lover of Jesus Christ. Scott would give you the shirt off his back, the meal in his hand, or the last $5 in his wallet. Whatever it took to make sure you were okay.

A master HVAC technician and a true jack of all trades, he spent many late nights at work, often away from his family, just to make sure others had heat when they needed it most.

In his free time, he loved golfing, playing his guitars, birdwatching with his wife, and analyzing the new album one of his favorite bands released. He also found need in helping others; often remodeling homes or taking on projects for friends and family. More than anything, he cherished time with his loved ones and being there when they needed him most.

He was was preceded in death by his father Bill Scott Hamilton, mother Evelyn Dawson Hamilton, sister Shelia Lynette Clyburn, nephew Kenneth Allan Clyburn, and several other close relatives.

Those left to cherish his memory include his amazing wife, Nancy Elaine Hamilton, daughter Ashley Rene Chitwood and husband Josiah Matthew Chitwood, and their children Azalee Noa Chitwood, Talion Nolan-Reid Chitwood, Fallyn Elaine Chitwood, and Lila Raeann Chitwood; his son Daniel Scott Hamilton and fiancée Emily Elizabeth Adkins, and their children Shiloh Noelle Hamilton, and Sawyer Kit Hamilton; his son Jonathan Charles Hamilton, and wife Michaela Marie Hamilton; daughter Morgan Leah Lilly, and husband Cameron Blaine Lilly, and their daughter Hazel Mae Lilly; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help cover medical expenses are appreciated but not necessary.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
