It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jessica Rivera, who passed away on March 4, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
For years she fought with strength and determination, facing every challenge head on. While cancer was part of her story, it was never all she was.
What truly defined Jessica were the titles she carried with the greatest pride: mother, wife, daughter, Titi Jess, and protector. Those roles were the center of her world and the places where her love shined the brightest. Her children were her heart and soul. She loved them fiercely and without limit, protecting them, guiding them, and standing beside them through every stage of life. Her love for her husband was just as powerful. To her, he truly was her king, and the life they built together was one she cherished deeply and one that many admired.
Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Robert Carrigan, her grandfather Richard Carrigan and aunt Cecil Carrigan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, José Rivera; her children, Keaira, Damion, Trinity, Joselito and Caden, as well as her best friend Mary Salvhus and her beloved fur babies Luna, Chance, and Raya; and many other family members and friends whose lives were forever changed by her love.
She spent her life lifting others when they were too tired to stand, giving her strength, her time, and her heart to anyone who needed it.
Now the world feels a little quieter without her in it, but the love she poured into others will continue to echo through the lives she changed forever. She always joked that she was a beautiful disaster, but the truth is that the beauty of her heart far outweighed any storm she carried.
She lived loudly, loved fiercely, and left fingerprints on the souls of everyone lucky enough to know her. And if love alone could have kept her here, she would have lived forever.

Quesenberry Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Shady Spring on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 7:00 PM, with Mr. Will Davis officiating.
