Joan Ellen Kountz

With somber and profoundly heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of Mrs. Joan E. Kountz, née Gilkerson, on the 31st of May, 2024. Born amidst the tranquil beauty of Beckley, West Virginia, Joan bid farewell to this life in the same beloved town that cradled her beginnings.

Joan's journey was marked by the deep love she shared with her late husband, Mr. Robert Kountz. Though she has now joined him in the hereafter, her spirit continues to illuminate the lives of those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her devoted son, Randy Kountz, and his loving wife, Kathy; her treasured grandson, James Kountz, and his wife, Ashleigh; and her precious great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alyssa, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Joan's warmth, kindness, and gentle soul touched many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. As we grieve this tremendous loss, we also celebrate a life that was beautifully and generously lived.

Arrangements for Joan's final journey have been entrusted to Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. Grave side rites and burial will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity at 2 pm June 4th 2024 . The family invites all who were touched by Joan's loving presence and gentle soul to join us in a service of remembrance and celebration of her remarkable life.
