Jody Mitchell Nichols

Jody Mitchell Nichols, age 55, of Mabscott, WV  passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division following a short illness.

Born on October 18, 1969 in Ripley, WV, he was the son of the late Fred Nichols and Betty Haverty Nichols.

Jody, as he was known by family and friends, was a truck driver for Gas Field Services of Ohio. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his work was very important to him.

Jody was a lifetime member of a hunting club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Chrystal "Red" Nichols, a step son Christopher Kelley,  and a sister Lori Nichols.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include  his loving daughter, Victoria Nichols of Amigo; two sisters, Susan Porter and Cheryl Chambers of Spencer; a brother Michael Nichols of  Arnoldsburg, VA; mother-in-law Victoria  Nuzum of Princewick; a brother by heart, Eddie Kessler and wife Peggy of Pineville; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The family extends special thanks to all the men of Gas Field Services.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Greg Howell  officiating. Burial will follow at the Kelley Cemetery at Epperly Hill, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM  until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Eddie  Kessler, Jamey Nichols, Aaron Kinser, Eddie Salmons, Preston Brewer, and Robbie Hall.
