John Lewis Aliff

John Lewis Aliff, age 85, of Beckley, WV passed away at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV on May 30, 2025 following a sudden illness.

Born on December 28, 1939 at Odd, WV, he was the son of the late John Earl Aliff and Sanie Justice Aliff Fletcher.

Mr. Aliff was a retired driver for United Parcel Service after thirty years of service, and also served as a County Commissioner of Raleigh County for twelve years.

Mr. Aliff served his country in the US Army for six years, and was a member of Calloway Heights Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing and loved flower gardening, and was affectionately known as "flower man." Mr. Aliff  was a member of the Beckley Masonic Lodge #95, A.F.&A.M.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Aliff  was preceded in death by his first wife Wanda Sue "Berries" Aliff; a son Paul Aliff; and nine siblings.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Judy Alderson Plumley Aliff; his daughter, Liane Hurt-Aliff of Charlotte, NC; step children, Robert Plumley of Knoxville, TN, Michael Plumley and wife Michelle of Beckley, and Joey Plumley and wife Monica of Plumley Mountain, Shady Spring; a step brother Dale Fletcher and wife Tammy of Elkin, NC; grandson, Derrick Farruggia and wife Madison of Beckley, and their children Audree, Autumn, and Carter; 10 step grandchildren, and 1 step great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Calloway Heights Baptist Church in Beckley, WV on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kim Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV.  Friends may visit with the family from noon until service time on Thursday at the church.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
