John "Rick" F. Clark

John F. "Rick" Clark, age 82, of Speedway, formerly of Ghent passed away at his daughter's home with family by his side Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Born June 16, 1942 in Shady Spring, he was the son of the late John Brewer Clark and Hazel Clark Williams.

Rick, as he was known to family and friends was a former diesel mechanic last working for and retiring from Cobra Tire. Rick was an avid model train collector and in his spare time loved fishing locally and Santee, SC.

Rick was of the Baptist faith and had attended Open Door Church in Shady Spring.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jeneva. Who passed away June of 2021. Sister Connie Crook and an infant Great Grandson, Rowdy.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his children son Michael Clark and daughter Lori Norman and husband Mikie all of Speedway. Four grandchildren Miranda Norman (Derek), Sloan Norman (Hannah) of Speedway, Jon Clark (Tiffany) of Ghent and Brittany Cook and her husband Stephen of Charleston. Great grandsons Trenton and Pearson of Charleston and expecting in October Great Granddaughter Georgia Dare. Former daughter in law Rhonda Clark of Charleston.

The family would like to thank the caregivers that has helped with the care of Rick over the last few years. A special thank you to Amy Gilley and the staff at Amedysis Hospice.

A service will be held at Rose and Quesenberry, Shady Spring on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Orville Setliff officiating. Friends may visit with family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Prosperity, WV.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
