John Hurt

John "Bo" Hurt (73) of Shady Spring, WV passed into Glory on July, 5th 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital following a sudden illness.

John "Bo" Hurt was a true patriot for his country.

He served 34 years to These Great United States of America including: 5 tours in Vietnam along with 3 branches of the Military including: Marines, Army, Navy, and Fleet Reserves and retired from the Navy. He was an OTR truck driver for 15yrs before retiring fully.

He was an honorable man who displayed upmost character and nobility to and for all that knew him.

He was married to the love of his life for 47 yrs and a father to his 4 girls, and 2 grandchildren.

May his Valor never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by Mother, Mary Etta Boise, Father John (Tubby) Hurt, Grandmother, Alice Ann, Daughters, Amanda Hurt, & Ashley (Hurt) Toler.

He is survived by: Wife, Nancy (Workman) Hurt of Shady Spring, WV, Daughter, Amber Workman of Marshallville, Ohio and 2 children Steven (Keith) Workman and spouse Sydney of Cool Ridge, WV, and Sylvia (Workman) Pickens and spouse Elijah of Shady Spring, WV. Daughter, Sarah (Hurt) Bailey and spouse Bryan of Orrville, OH. Son-in-law Jeremy Toler and spouse Harmony of Rincon, GA. Grandchildren Elijah Toler, John (Abe) Toler and their brother Maddox King of Rincon, GA, Jaycee, Seth, Lukas and Marshall Bailey of Orrville, OH, and 3 great grandsons, Jameson and Wesley Pickens of Shady Spring, WV and Waylon Workman of Cool Ridge, WV

A Memorial Graveside Service  will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 1:45 p.m. at the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, OH.
