John Stevens Harrah, age 78, of Stanaford, WV passed away at CAMC Memorial Division on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
Born on December 10, 1945 at Backus Mountain, he was the son of the late Everette Harrah and Nellie Smith Harrah.
Mr. Harrah was a local businessman, having owned and operated MacArthur Auto Body and Repair Shop, and was a former coal miner.
He was a United States Army Veteran, and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Harrah enjoyed working on cars and spending time at the garage seeing customers and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Harrah, and a brother Billy Harrah.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Nina Conner Harrah; a daughter Tina Harrah of Beckley; a son Jason Harrah and his wife Chantelle of Florida; grandchildren, Imala Harrah, Raylee Harrah and Gavin Harrah, all of Beckley; Emma and Caleb Harrah of Florida. A long time friend Larry Brown of Beckley also survives.
A private committal service and entombment for family members will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 3 PM with Pastor Keith Manning officiating.
There will be no visitation.
