Johnny Allen Green

Johnny Allen Green, age 84, of Beckley, WV passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born on June 22, 1939 in Pineville, he was the son of the late John T. Green and Thelma A. Yates Green.

Mr. Green graduated from Shady Spring High School in 1957, and briefly worked at Raleigh Motor Sales. He then joined the United States Army in 1958, and was stationed in South Dakota. Mr. Green started working at BJW  Printing in 1960, and worked there for 41 years.  He married  the love of his life Minnie Mae Crews in 1967, and was married to her for over 50 years, to whom he was totally devoted.

Mr. Green enjoyed hunting with his beagles, and also loved to fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Mae Green; a stepson Fred C. Crews; a daughter Victoria L. Green; a brother Thomas R. Green.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include a step son Donnie R. Crews Sr. and wife Georgette of Omaha, Nebraska and their sons Donnie  R. Crews Jr. and Jody Crews; granddaughter Tammy Crews of Beckley, and her daughter Bryn Calhoun; a special niece Cherlyn Taraczkozy and husband David of Beckley and their son James and Sarah Taraczkozy (and their son J.J.),  their daughter Alexis Rollins and  husband Ricki of Beckley (and their daughters McKinley and Kennedy); a sister-in-law Betty Green and a nephew Billy Green of North Carolina.

According to Mr. Green's personal wishes, he will be cremated. Graveside rites and burial of cremains will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, WV.
