Joyce Delane Lawson

Joyce Delane Lawson, age 81, of Princeton, WV, formerly of Odd, WV passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 13, 1944 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Cooper and Frances Maddy Cooper.

Mrs. Lawson had a degree in childhood development, and was a retired Day Care and Pre K. Teacher. Her passion was singing gospel music, and had recorded professional albums of gospel music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lawson; brother Andrew Cooper, and a nephew Teray Reed.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Victoria Brown and Valentina Plumley; a sister Barbara Reed and husband Maynard; nephews Jeff Reed and wife Rose, and Darryl Reed and wife Cecilia; nieces Laverne Fields and husband Gene, Julie Carden and husband Doug, April Brankquist, and Tiffany Love and husband Ben; Grandchildren, Autumn Lawson, Brandon Gay, Casey Gay, Heather Holland and Nathan Plumley; great grandchildren, Tayah Lawson, Jayden Lawson, Parris Lawson, Taniyah Holland, Taliyah Holland, and Trinity Holland; a great-great grandchild Kiaro Lawson.

She always would sing "Together Again".

Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Funeral Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Shady Spring, WV on Monday, September 29, 2025 at noon. Burial will follow at the Cooper Cemetery at Odd, WV. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
