Obituary

Judith Kay Heath Motley, age 80, of Westfield, North Carolina, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 11, 1946 in Mead, WV, she was the youngest daughter of a family of eleven children , to the late James H. Heath and Naomi Tiller Heath.

Mrs. Motley spent her childhood in Mead and Mabscott, WV. She spent many of her favorite years in Grandview, WV with her husband and daughters. Mrs. Motley enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved her precious time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Motley was preceded in death by her siblings, Billy Heath, James “Jimmy” Heath, Monzella Heath McKinney, Betty Heath Italiano, Norma Heath Hatfield, Richard “Dick” Heath, Darvis Heath, Patty Heath Reed and Jack Heath.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband of nearly 63 years, Carrol William Motley; two loving daughters, Karen Renee Motley Mullins and fiancé Kevin Boggs of Union, WV, and Stephanie Motley Whittington and husband Terry of Pilot Mountain, NC; four grandchildren, Autumn Herndon and husband Samuel, Dylan Mullins and wife Porsha, Avery Whittington, and Alexis Whittington; five great grandchildren, Collins Herndon, Claire Herndon, Caislyn Herndon, Caiden Mullins, and Eleanor Mullins; bonus grandchildren, Dylan and Mikayla Boggs; a brother Dean Heath and wife Therese of Reidsville, VA. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Committal services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B. in Beckley, WV on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Ron Chamblin officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery. 

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
