Julie Ann Devericks, 65, passed away on February 9, 2025, at her home in Shady Spring, WV.
She was born to Thomas and Betty Dick on April 2, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1977, Julie married her high school sweetheart, Buddy Duane. They were blessed to celebrate 47 years of marriage together. Left to carry on her traditions are her children: Timothy (Christina) Devericks, Joy (Bill) Anderson, and Betty Wallace (Eric Tucker).
Julie and Buddy were also blessed with four grandchildren: Tre (Kate) Anderson, Thomas Anderson, Rebecca Devericks, and Orion Wallace. She was also recognized by many of her nieces and nephews as a mother figure in their lives.
She was welcomed into heaven by her loving mother and best friend, Betty Lou Dick. Other angels by her side include, Lester and Leona Plumley, Enfield and Annie Dick, Harold and Naomi Devericks, Patricia Richards, Harold Devericks Junior, Danielle Richards, Travis Devericks and aunts and uncles.
Julie was a dedicated and hardworking employee of GTE, Bill-Jac, Arrowhead Clinic and Beckley Surgical Center until she retired early last year. Julie lived a devoted life of service to others. Which is demonstrated by her years as a stay-at-home mom until her children reached school age; family dinners which always included guests who needed a seat at her table, Blessing someone who was on her heart with a gift in her own special way.
The family will be receiving guests to celebrate the life of Julie Ann Devericks at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV, on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 PM until the service time on Monday at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at Washington Plumley Cemetery at Plumley Mountain.
