Kara Lee (Keaton)Wallace, age 44, of Bolt, WV, passed away peacefully at her home on November 2, 2025.
Kara was born December 4, 1980, in Winchester, VA, to Giles and Karen Keaton of Clear Creek, WV.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Shirley Bryant; paternal grandparents, Robert and Shirley Keaton; uncles, Jerry Bryant and Alan Bryant; and aunt, Lenora Bell.
In addition to her parents, Kara is survived by her children, James Wallace and Lauran Wallace; her companion, Jessie Patterson; and his children, Jessica (Chris) Zornes, Dustin (Brooke) Patterson, Brianna Patterson (Chris Cales), and Paige Patterson. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Madison, Mckenna, Karson, Airahbella, Kohen, Brinleigh, and Adeline. Kara is also survived by her sisters, Leah Kincaid and Janice (Gary) Williams; nephews, Justin Scarbro and Trevor (Samantha) Quarles; nieces, Nora Scarbro, Rabekka Quarles, and KaiLyn Williams; and great-nephews, Landon and Hunter Scarbro, and Kolson and Kaden Quarles. Uncles Russell (Sue) Keaton, John (Teresa) Bryant, Aunts Wanda (Gary) Hoerman, Karla (Butch) Pugh, Donna Bryant, Kim (Michael) Bacon, and a host of cousins. She is also survived by Garrett Wallace, father of her children.
Kara had a fiercely independent and free-spirited soul. She lived life with a wild heart and adventurous spirit. Always ready for the next journey—whether exploring the mountains, traveling somewhere new, or finding joy in life's spontaneous moments—she embraced every day with passion and courage.
Kara once said, "I'm like a wild horse that will never be tamed," and those who knew her can attest that no truer words were ever spoken. Her energy, laughter, determination, and boundless love for freedom left an unforgettable mark on everyone she met.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewing Creek Church, Clear Creek, WV on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 3:00 PM, with Rev. David Taylor Jr. officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at the Keaton Family Cemetery on Toney's Fork Road, Clear Creek, WV.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
