Karen Colleen Kruchek of 109 Hazel St. Beckley, WV went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, after an extended illness.
Karen was born on August 19, 1946, in Detroit, MI, to the late Helen Doud Kruchek and Edward John Kruchek.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary Alice Simmons, her brother-in-law, William H. Simmons; her niece, Patricia Ann McCommas; and her nephew, William H. Simmons, Jr.
Her remaining family members who will cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews: Mary Beth and Anthony J. Paletta of Bridgeport, WV; and David and Sandy Simmons of Soak Creek, WV as well as great-nieces and nephews: Mary Virginia Paletta of Martinsburg, WV; Jonathan and Caitlyn Pyles of Columbus, OH; A. J. and Kaity Paletta, Jr. of Milton, PA; Nathan and Kellsie Stevens of Suffolk, VA; Jake Kelly of Bradley, WV; and Jessie Kelly of Blacksburg, VA. Karen also had a great-great-niece, Skylar, and a great-great-nephew, Kenshin.
Karen was employed by Commercial Credit, Crook's Wholesale Grocery and St. Stephens Episcopal Church from which she retired. She was an avid baker and dog lover all of her life and a two-time cancer survivor.
Visitation will be Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Bradley Presbyterian Church from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM with services following at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at the Blue Ridge Cemetery next to her mother.
