Karen Lynn Lovell, age 73, of Prosperity, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 5, 1952 in Beaver, she was the daughter of the late James and Wilda Hill Brewster.
Karen was a homemaker and a devoted pastor's wife. She was a member of Sprague Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a meticulous planner for the Church. Karen loved her family, especially taking care of her "boys" (sons and grandsons). She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by sister Diana Gail Ward; by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Susie Lovell; by brothers-in-law, Darrell and Richard Lovell.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 53 years, Fred Lovell Jr; two sons, Sherman Lovell and wife Tina of Stanaford, and Freddie Lovell III and wife Susan of Bradley; three grandsons, Jacob Lovell and wife Taylor of Pippa Passes, KY, Andrew Lovell and girlfriend Abby Humphrey of Stanaford, and Peyton Lovell of Bradley. Two sisters, Belinda Tolliver and husband Bobby of Beckley, and Marlene Lovell of Beckley; a sister-in-law Cathy "Kat" Chambers of Beckley; a sister-in-law Kathy Lovell of Maple Fork; special friend who was more like a sister, Brenda Pyatt and husband Melvin of Fayetteville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate the Life of Karen Lovell at the Sprague Freewill Baptist Church on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM, with her husband Pastor Fred Lovell Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday at the church, and also one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church.
Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
