Kathy Delaine Bishop, born September 17, 1951, passed peacefully with her family at 6:00 PM March 13, 2025.
She was born to Edna and James Paynter of Hanover, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Deborah Elain Paynter (twin sister), Pamela Whited, Larry Paynter and grandson, Tyler Butcher
She was a loving wife, mother and Meme to Gary (husband), Cyndi Butcher (Scotty), Missy Meador (Greg), Tyler Butcher (grandson), Drew Butcher (Ashleigh), Amelia Meador, and Nate Meador. She was an active member of Cool Ridge Freewill Baptist Church where she attended for twenty years. Kathy enjoyed being "Miss Kathy" to all the children who grew up around her over the last several years. She enjoyed giving gifts and celebrating every holiday with the children in her church family.
Kathy had a lifelong enthusiasm for antiques, crafts, Victorian décor, and opening her home to family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Gary and visiting the beach and Amish country every chance she could.
She was known for telling everyone that all she ever wanted in life was to be Gary's wife and raise his children. They shared a beautiful life together since age 13 and spent 60 wonderful years together where she did just that.
Kathy's request was that there be a celebration of life, scheduled later this year. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you consider a donation to Southern West Virginia Hospice (Bowers House) or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (www.breakthrough1d.org).
