Kathy Laverne Mitchem-Noel

Kathy Laverne Mitchem-Noel, age 63, of Russia Ohio, formerly of Beckley, WV passed away at Upper Valley Ohio Medical Center on Monday, May 6, 2024 after a long illness.  Born on March 10, 1961, in Beckley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Mitchem and Isabell Irvin Mitchem-Gorsky.

Mrs. Mitchem-Noel last worked for Evenflo in Piqua, Ohio, before becoming disabled.  She was of the protestant faith and was one of the founding members of the gospel singing group, The Mitchem Sisters.  In the group she was the main song-writer, singer and musician, having played the guitar for many years.  Mrs. Mitchem-Noel loved the Lord and missed all of her family, who had gone to Heaven before her, very much.  What a Glorious Family Reunion she is having!

In addition to both of her parents, Mrs. Mitchem-Noel was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lillie and Vollie Irvin, and paternal grandparents, Adeline and Reece Mitchem. One sister, whom she loved very much, Drema Weeks, Beaver.  Her sweet, loving, kind father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Ireland (Bud) Noel and Charlene Noel, Beckley.  Two Brothers-In-Law, Ray Arthur, Beckley and Mike Weeks, Sophia.  All her maternal and paternal aunts and uncles and several cousins have preceded her.

Those left to cherish her memory include; "The Love of her Life", and husband of 26 Years, who was her caregiver, Charles Noel.  One Step-Son, Charles Noel and wife, Tricia Noel, Ohio, 3 Step grandchildren, Velena Noel, Charles Noel, and Chance Noel, Ohio. One Sister, Delena Arthur of Beckley.  Three nieces, Michelle Gessner, NC, Heather Abbott, MO and Ashlee Weeks, MO.  Two great-nieces, Elizabeth Perez, MO and Isabell Gessner, NC.  Three great-nephews John Gessner and Robert Gessner, NC and Joshua Smith, Beckley. One great-great nephew, Michael Perez, MO and one great-great niece, Olyvia Perez, MO. One Brother-In-Law, David Noel, Beckley and numerous cousins and family members.  Mrs. Mitchem-Noel also leaves 2 fur babies, Mandy and Chili, who she considered as her children.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, WV on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 12:00 p.m., noon with Rev. Chelsey Noel Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
