Kathy Lynn Oney

Kathy Lynn Oney age 68 of  Beckley,  WV passed away at her home on March 21, 2026.

Born on June 4, 1957 in Beckley, she was   the daughter of the late Arnold and Geraldine Lenora Oney.

Kathy attended Stratton Junior High School, and graduated  from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1975.   She continued  her education for a short period of  time at West Virginia University to become a veterinarian. Later she then decided to go to Beckley College and became a nurse.  After a few years she went in training to work for the New River Park Service and Preserve. She retired after 32 years in December 2025.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include sisters, Diana Puckett  of Hinton, and Cynthia Hatcher and husband James of Mount Hope; two nieces  Lorie Hatcher and her children Kade and Kalyn of Beckley, and Mindy Hatcher of Morgantown a nephew Brian Hatcher and his wife Fayth of Piney View; a great niece Misty McKinney, and a great nephew Dustin Brown.

A graveside rite and burial will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV with Pastor Fred Lovell officiating on Friday, May 1, 2026 at noon, with everyone welcome to attend.

There will be no  visitation.
