Lacy Eugene Ellison

Lacy Eugene Ellison, age 75, of  White Oak, WV passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 5, 1950 in Eccles, WV, he was the son of  the late Wilbert Donald Ellison and Anna Moye Ellison Basham.

Mr. Ellison was a retired coal miner with 33 years of service, and was a member of  the UMWA. He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed taking care of, and mowing his lawn. He also loved being outdoors, and enjoyed his retirement since the age of 55.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellison was preceded  in death by a brother, Donald Ellison.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Deborah Carr Ellison; his children, Christopher Eugene Ellison of White Oak, and Shannon Lynn Mizia and husband Jimmy of Shady Spring; three sisters, Judy Wilburn and her husband Dr. Howard Wilburn of Daleville, VA, Drema Blake and husband Kenneth of Piney View, and Sandy Scarborough and husband Jeff of Shady Spring; a grandson Seth Mizia, who was paw paw's special boy since birth, of Morgantown. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Amos E. Quesenberry Peace Chapel of Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley, WV on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Garry Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may visit  with the family from noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Ellison, Jimmy Mizia, Seth Mizia, Josh Robertson, James Ellison, and Kenneth Blake.
