Lacy Allen Farley

Lacy Allen Farley of Cool Ridge, West Virginia, born June 4, 1954, was called home on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

He was at home, surrounded by his family.

A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Lacy enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and deeply appreciated his life. He treasured his family, and being with them was what he loved the most. Lacy did not know pride, as he was the epitome of a humble man. He worked alongside his loving wife of nearly 35 years, Melissa, to build a beautiful, loving home where they would raise their sons, Andrew and Nicholas. He was blessed with a grandson, Isaiah. He loved Isaiah very much, and this was obvious to those around him. If you had a moment to spend with Lacy, he almost certainly pulled out his phone to show you videos and pictures of his beloved grandson.

Lacy was one of seven siblings, and he will forever be remembered as the strongest. With that strength came a calm spirit and an uncanny ability to make those around him feel like old friends. Lacy was very easygoing; easy to talk to, and easy to get along with. Quick-witted and kind-hearted, he was always making jokes, sharing stories and making others laugh. Lacy always wore a smile. He took great pleasure in simple things, like visiting his brother's tractor shop to sit down and chat with family, bargain hunting, and beating everyone in a game of liar's poker. He rarely passed on a chance to spend time with his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Melissa; sons, Andrew and Nicholas; grandson, Isaiah and his mother Callie Logan Hale; brothers, Oris Lee and wife Joyce, Otis and wife Theresa, Thomas and wife Tammy, Charles and wife Debra, Harold and wife Sandy; sister, Frances and husband Joe, and many nieces and nephews who looked up to him with love.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Chloie Mae Farley and father, Edward Allen Farley, of Whitby, WV.

Funeral services will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Shady Spring Chapel on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 3 PM. Burial will follow at the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 1 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
