Lanny Lee Bolen

Lanny Lee Bolen, age 85, of Cool Ridge, WV passed away at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Born on November 28, 1940 in Coal City, he was the son of the late Charles C. Bolen and Edith Helen Kiblinger Bolen.

Mr. Bolen was a retired carpenter, and was a US Navy Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, raising cattle, and farming.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bolen was preceded in death by siblings, Larry E. Bolen, Charles Leon Bolen, Carolyn Bolen Billings and Darlene Bolen.

Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Charles P. Bolen and wife Amy of Jacksonville, FL, Joy B. Bolen-McColgan and husband Rexall of Branchland, WV, and L. Ross Bolen and wife Johannah of Greensboro, NC; a brother Leslie Bolen and wife Dee of Ghent, WV; a sister Judy Bolen Shulick of Oak Island, NC; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A private burial of his cremains will follow at a later date.
