Lillie Marie Sumner

Lillie Marie Shrewsbury Sumner, 95, of Old Eccles Road, passed through the veil November 18, 2024, at the Bowers Hospice House. She was born on July 18, 1929, the seventh child of Virgie Bell and James Edward Shrewsbury.

Lillie was a homemaker and avid gardener.

She is survived by daughters, Shirley Needleman (Mark) of Powhatan, Virginia; Linda Sumner of Beckley, West Virginia, and granddaughter, Jada-Star Mains of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; grandson, Elijah Needleman; sisters Zillian Burnett, Lillian Grose, Gledis Wood, Gladys Webb and brothers Charles Shrewsbury, Paris Shrewsbury, Joseph Shrewsbury and Roy Shrewsbury.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, November 25, 2024 3:00 PM at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, 1901 S. Kanawha Street  Beckley, WV. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to Bowers Hospice House, Home Based Care.

Interment will be private.
