Lola Mae Fanning

Lola Mae Fanning, age 79, of Bluefield, WV passed away at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia on Sunday, November 10, 2024.

Born on August 12, 1945 in Bud, WV, she was the daughter of the late Estell Lester and Mae Whitt Lester.

Lola was a retired school teacher for the Raleigh County Board of Education, last teaching at Sophia- Soak Creek  Elementary School. She was also a former social worker.

Lola was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Fanning; by siblings, a brother Quentin Lester, and two sisters Lena and Lois; by an infant brother Kermit Lester.

Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughter Nora S. Harvey of Speedway; a granddaughter Willow Harvey of Princeton; a brother Clinton Lester and wife Nancy of Pineville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
