Loretta Wheeler

Loretta Gail Keith Wheeler, 84, of Harper, West Virginia, went home to her Heavenly Father on June 13, 2025.

Her battle with serious medical issues over the last several years showed her courage to face challenges with a smile and contagious joy.

She was always amused by the fact she was born on Friday the 13th, it seems her last laugh would be that she passed on Friday the 13th.

Born September 13, 1940 in Kingston, WV, she was the daughter of the late John Kelly Keith and Beulah Lawson Keith.

Loretta was a graduate of Fayetteville High School, class of 1958 and later would earn her associates degree in Tourism and Hospitality from Beckley College. She was also a longtime member of Prosperity First Baptist Church. Loretta loved taking naps on rainy days, exercising with her friends and watching racing, but most of all loved watching her sons and grandchildren race.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Brenda "Sue" Keith and brother, Howard "Butch" Keith.

Those left to remember her are her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Randall Wheeler of Harper, WV; her sons, Kenneth Lee Wheeler (and his wife, Manon) of Beckley, WV and Randall Keith Wheeler (and his wife, Elizabeth) of Ardmore, OK; her brothers, Robert Lee "Bob" Keith of Oak Hill, WV and Johnny Ray Keith (and his wife, Jane) of Oak Hill, WV; granddaughters, Johnna Shrewsbury(and her husband, Mark) and Madison Wheeler;  grandsons, Randy Wheeler (and his wife, Genevi) and Maison Wheeler; great grandchildren, Ariana, Ethan and Cayson Shrewsbury and Isaiah, Abigail, Annabeth and Josephine Wheeler.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 2:00pm at Beckley Regular Baptist Church, 707 Johnstown Road, Beckley, WV with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will be privately held at a later date.
